Potluck Plates & Back-to-school splash: A Weekend to Remember!

I'm so excited about this weekend. We've got our International Potluck this Friday and I just know there will be some dishes that make me wonder how there are any skinny people left in the world at all. I. CAN'T. WAIT! The sign-up sheet is already posted on the board outside of the store/office. You can begin setting up as early as 5PM.We must begin serving no later than 6PM.

With the kiddo's back in school we're ALL back to the grind. For most parents, that's reason to celebrate. Some kids can't wait to return to school. They pop out of bed at 4AM like spring chickens, fully clothed and full of excitement. Some kids...not so much. Some you have to drag out of bed by their feet or sound a bull horn or throw a bucket of ice water on them, all while holding your breath because their room smells like a cross between a science experiment gone wrong and week old gym socks!

Oh wait, those are my kids. Sorry about that. Got carried away.

I want to give everyone a reason to celebrate. I believe that dedicating your mind and body to growth and learning every day IS something to celebrate so we're throwing a BACK TO SCHOOL BASH. Much like the end of the school year field days, this Saturday will be dedicated to fun and games and crammed to the brim with opportunities to celebrate.

We will be starting strong at 10AM on Saturday morning with Field Games. See the separate attachment for our list of games and activities. We will break for lunch.

As an extra special treat Bob Modena will be back on the grill from 12:30PM to 1:30PM except he's not slinging steaks this time. He's slinging pizza slices!

Pool Games will round out our celebration between 1:30PM and 3PM.

BINGO will hold it's traditional spot at 3PM with some new patterns this week.

Lastly -- we began our day celebrating and we will end our day celebrating. Join us in the lodge for an Ice Cream Social. WE will bring the ice cream. You bring the toppings, cones, sauces, etc.

Because our Field Games are taking the place of our usual 10AM Kids Craft there will be a 'Grab-n-Go' craft for the kids on Sunday at 10AM.

Before I sign off I have a few things of note.

I'd like to begin something new that I think will be really helpful. A running list of upcoming activities at the end of each weekly activity email. Most of the time I have a handful of things that are set in stone and some I'm still working on. This allows me to share what's up and coming and fill the rest in as they are confirmed.

I want to give extra special thanks to Bob Modena and Jennie Moden-Haring. I know their contributions are selflessly done to benefit the kids and campers but they truly help me SO much. I cannot say thank you enough.

****NOTE****Instead of closing the pool after Labor Day the Owners agreed to keep it open specifically so we could include Pool Games in our celebration. Sunday September 14th will be the last day the pool will be open this season. I know it's sad to see it close. It's like a big flashing sign that reminds us the season is almost over. I just want to shout out the Trimurti of the Campground for continuously making decisions to please the greatest number of guests possible.
