Burr....It's getting chilly up here in the mountains.
I hope you are all staying warm and toasty. I also hope you're ready for another weekend here at the campground. The days are drawing down fast. We've got some pretty cool stuff to go with our cooling temperatures. This week marks the beginning of our Halloween Themed activities.
That being said, LET'S GET TO IT!
Friday is the start of our next Raffle. The Adult Raffle will be for an Expert Grill Portable Grill and Smoker, Bag of Instant Light Charcoal, and Grilling Accessories. The Kids Raffle will be for a Handheld Retro Arcade AND their pick of 2 items from the Treasure Chest. The drawing will be held on Saturday September 27th.
Friday also kicks off an All Ages Scavenger Hunt for some 'Lost Campers'. Details AND Clues will be posted on the board outside the store/office on Friday at 6pm. This scavenger hunt may be a little more difficult so it will continue all weekend. There can be up to 6 winners and all winners will receive a Raffle ticket of their choice; either Adult or Kids. For this Scavenger Hunt there will be updates on the progress of the recovered campers. It's too cold to be looking if there's nothing left to look for. Lol.
Friday evening we're going to take another crack at Mexican Train Dominoes. What's that you say? He doth protest too much! Ok, Ok, so it may turn into an impromptu Poker game if there isn't enough love for The Train.
Saturday Morning Halloween will make an appearance with Halloween Suncatchers at the Lodge at 10AM and we'll Rock into the Night with the Callaghans. Callaghan Karaoke will be in the Lodge this time around. Poor Bonnie might turn into an ice cube if we try to hold it at the Big Tent. I know it's an enclosed space but on the plus side I'll be able too hear all your beautiful voices this time.
While I know most people are preparing to head home on Sunday feel free to send the kiddos to the Lodge at 11AM for a special Glow-in-the-Dark craft.
A few things of note:
It has come to my attention that there were some questions about holding Trick-or-Treating the weekend before Columbus Day. I scheduled it this way because so many of you had and have serious concerns about speeders. We are already booked for Columbus Day and I thought it would put some worries to rest. If you feel strongly about keeping it on Columbus Day Weekend please let me know. I'm open to change. Especially since it also came to my attention that Trick-or-Treating usually occurs during daylight hours.
Many of you received notification about the resolution of our firewood issues. You may now purchase 1/4 cords of wood for $55 and 1/2 cords of wood for $110. You will be happy to know we have already begun firewood deliveries which are a mix of hard and soft wood. You can now also purchase bundles of hardwood from the store. These bundles will be identified by a red wrap instead of the clear wrap on the softwood. There are just 2 things I ask - 1 - Please don't stack the wood against anything living like a bush, a tree, or a person. 2 - Please understand that a 1/4 or 1/2 cord will not have the near instant delivery that a few bundles do. A 1/2 cord is a lot of wood and will take a little more time to get to you.
Lastly - things are changing quickly. Sometimes it's hard to stay pliable to change but I promise - SO MANY GOOD THINGS ARE COMING! Your feedback is more important now than ever. Please keep up the communication. If you like a change we've made - tell us. If you have some thoughts about things you'd like to see - Let us know. If you have concerns about an upcoming changed we've announced - Our ears are open. Perhaps the biggest change is the one I'm describing right now. WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU.
Thank you all for sticking with me on this journey.
