Our story

Peppermint Park has been part of the Plainfield, MA community for decades, welcoming families, friends, and campers from near and far. We are located on wooded and grassy hillside in the Berkshire hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. What started as a simple campground has steadily grown into a vibrant seasonal community where traditions are made and new memories are created every year. Our name pays homage to the production of peppermint oil as a local industry in the early 1800’s. Although the dominant industry in the area today is tourism, our agricultural heritage comes alive each Spring with the maple sugaring which remains a very important part of the region’s character.
