Games, Glow, and Gatherings: A Weekend to Remember

Good Golly! It is crunch time and is there ever an abundance of activity! I know I'm a little late with the schedule but I had to make sure we could obtain enough black lights for Saturday nights activity.
This weekend we are beginning with Game Night on Friday at 6PM. I scored a spiffy new Cribbage board this week and I've been watching videos on game play to refresh since it's been about 20 years. I also snatched up a jumbo Yard Yahtzee if the weather permits. For the more sophisticated mind we even have jumbo Yard Chess.
I want gathering to be a thing here. I've gotten to know so many of you over the last 5 months. When we spend time together we learn more about each other. We transition from being a site number to being a name to being a friend. We aren't so quick to anger when rumors are spread if we know each other better. I'm getting much better with faces and names but I'm still working on site numbers. Help a girl out. Bring your favorite game. Bring some snacks and drinks. Bring a pillow or whatever you need to be comfortable. Last weeks Chili Cook-Off and Harvest Potluck was awesome. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face if I tried. I love it when we all come together to share something and enjoy each other's company. Let's have more of that.
I will be bringing lots of Honey Crisp Apples and enough caramel dip to put a small army in a diabetic coma. I hope you'll join me.
Send the kids down to the Lodge after breakfast for our Kids Craft at 10AM. This week they will be making custom pennants. Our Painted Pumpkins for the Peppermint Park Pumpkin Patch is still happening. Pumpkins are in the Lodge and all supplies necessary for a personalized work of art are available to aid our Pumpkin Picassos.
Horseshoes will be at the North Pits at noon per the usual. This group is incredibly committed and I'm sure they are going to miss each other in the off season.
SEE! Gathering!
We'll gather some more for BINGO at 3PM. This will be our final regular BINGO since the final BINGO of the season will be BINGO Bonanza #3. Wish me luck.
7PM I will be hosting Melissa's Adult Paint & Sip. Melissa's because I am still fielding instructors so we can get back to the traditional Paint & Sip next season. We will be doing black light glow in the dark dot mandalas. There will be a sign up sheet this time to avoid having more participants than supplies. Please note* Black Lights will be on during the activity. If you are averse please let me know.
Sunday we will continue to work on being more accommodating to our campground kiddos busy schedules. Grab & Go activities will be available at the Lodge at 11AM. If you've got some time to spend you are welcome to stay and pick a craft of your choice. I will provide instruction for whatever you choose.
Ok, now lets dig into the meat of it. Our new raffle has begun. I told you all it was going to be BIG. Our final raffle will run from Friday October 3rd until Sunday October 12th. The final raffle is for a Blackstone Tailgater Grill and Griddle Combo, complete with a 1lb propane tank and a 15pc grill/griddle accessory kit. Tickets will be $5 each or 5 for $20.
And since this 'Adult' raffle is the biggest I knew the final Kids Raffle had to be the biggest as well. The winner of the kids raffle will receive a Razor Color Rave Electric Scooter! Tickets will be $1 each or 5 for $4
Lastly I want to announce well in advance that we are holding a Halloween Decorating contest. You can decorate your campsite to compete. Judging will be Sunday October 12th during Trick-or-Treating and the winner will be announced by Liquid Courage at 9PM. The winner of this contest will receive an Ozark Trails Hammock chair. Trust me when I tell you this thing will be the most comfortable seat in the house.
In closing this week, our time is running short. Dawn has left us for the season and I miss her already. You'll see some new faces as preparations for next season begin now. I'm already asking what the heck I'm going to do with myself when you are all gone. I've learned so much this season. I've learned the most from my mistakes. I've had so much fun with all of you and even though it's not over yet I already can't wait to see all of our ambitious plans come to fruition to fill our 2026 season with fireworks. Figurative fireworks, not real fireworks. Don't come for me when we don't have actual fireworks next year. Lol.
Cheers to you all. You really are a great community.
